1. Acceptance of terms
By using the Garage Light apps or website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Garage Light is a presence signal for invitation-only groups. It is not a security system, a chat app, or a hangout planner.
2. Accounts
You sign in with Apple on iOS or Google on Android, then choose a display name and optional photo. You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep invite links private. Anyone with a current invite code can join that group.
3. Prohibited conduct
Do not use a garage light to mislead people, harass anyone, or cover unlawful activity. Do not scrape, spam, or try to break into other people’s groups. We may remove members or disable accounts that violate these terms.
4. Intellectual property
The Garage Light name, hanging-lamp artwork, and app design are ours. You keep the photos and names you upload. You grant us a limited license to show them to members of groups you join, so the member list and notifications can work.
5. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” A light in the app does not mean someone is actually home, that a place is safe, or that guests are expected. We are not responsible for what group members do in the physical world, or for missed or delayed notifications.
6. Termination
You can leave a group or delete your account. We may suspend or end access if we believe these terms were violated or if the service is abused. If you were the last member of a group, that group is removed.
7. The service
Features may change. Widgets, Live Activities, push, and geofence auto-off depend on device permissions you grant. Location is used only to turn your own light off when you leave the pin you set.
8. Changes to terms
We may update these terms. The current version lives at garagelight.app/terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
